Manchester City are interested in signing Joshua Kimmich from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2024, according to . The report has noted that Kimmich is out of contract at Bundesliga champions Bayern in the summer of 2025, and that the Bavarian giants could sell him at the end of the season if he does not sign a new deal by then.

Netherlands international Daley Blind has been diagnosed with inflammation of the heart muscle, Ajax have announced.

The former Manchester United defender suffered from dizziness in Ajax s Champions League defeat against Valencia on December 10.

Although Blind completed that game, he has not played since and was last week ruled out of his club s remaining matches in 2019.

Ajax have now confirmed Blind will remain in Amsterdam to continue his recovery when the team travels to Qatar for a mid-season training camp.

France s professional football union, the UNFP, has refused to award the prize for Ligue 1 s best referee in 2017-18 to Tony Chapron, who was banned for six months for kicking out at a player.

Chapron aimed a kick at Nantes Diego Carlos before sending him off during their league match with Paris Saint-Germain on January 14, after he had tripped when colliding with the defender.

Although he apologised, he was suspended by the Ligue de Football Professionnel following the incident, but SAFE, France s refereeing union, slammed the decision as an attempt to kill his career .

Catania officials arrested over alleged match-fixing

Seven people linked to Serie B outfit Catania have been arrested by Italian police over suspected match-fixing during last season.

Catania struggled on their return to the second tier of Italian football after dropping out of Serie A in 2013-14, and the arrests relate to matches alleged to have been fixed to ensure they avoided successive relegations.

At the end of the 42-game campaign, Catania finished 15th in the table, two points clear of being involved in any play-off matches and five off automatic relegation.
